Saint Lucy I Original Oil Painting

Based on my own interpretation of Saint Lucy - I found inspiration in a hero that chose herself and her relationship with the divine over an arranged marriage. This particular story has many mythological qualities, some versions involve Lucy wearing her eyes in her hands, seeing high above the battlefields and leading her people to victory. The ropes signify the tangible and metaphorical bonds that women wear, both in those times and modern day.
