This ashram sits in the foothills of the Himalayas, along the holy Ganges river, near Rishikesh, India. This place once belonged to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who is credited for transcendental meditation. During the 60's and 70's, this place hosted a handful of celebrities including The Beatles, who wrote the "White Album" during their stay. The ashram was abandoned in the 90's but has regained popularity under its' new nick name "The Beatles Ashram". 

I visited the site in November 2017 and was immediately inspired by the street art. Most notably artists like Miles Toland and ArtXPan had covered a significant number of walls. I was inspired to create my first of many murals "Holy Cow". The following year, I returned to paint 3 more murals on site. This has been one of my favorite projects to date. I love the environment and ambiance at the ashram, and the way nature has consumed the buildings. I also enjoy seeing more art evolving on site each year!
